HSC Roundtable Series @Mexico City: Transforming Mobility by Inclusion and Sustainability in Mexico and Latin America

The drive to address gender disparities, considering intersecting forms of discrimination, extends across all domains, including mobility and public transport systems. Over 85% of women have experienced sexual harassment or violence while using public transit, with 60% feeling unsafe in various public spaces. Women also undertake the majority of caregiving trips.

On February 27th, GIZ Mexico and TUMI will convene a high-level roundtable, bringing together key stakeholders from politics, private sector, and civil society. The aim is to explore the potential replication of inclusive, sustainable mobility solutions in Mexico and Latin America.

The insights gained from this dialogue will inform program design for the inaugural Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) in October 2024. The HSC aims to build new international alliances across political, private, and civil society realms, fostering actionable commitments.
