Disabilty Inclusive Public Transport
The policy brief highlights the importance of inclusive public transport in ensuring that people with all types of disabilities have access to education, employment, healthcare and social contacts, and break the downward spiral of dependency and poverty. It offers practical guidance to policy makers and practitioners in low-income countries in Africa and Asia to ensure that public transport is accessible. Many barriers can be overcome with simple, low-cost solutions, along with engagement with people with disabilities to understand their needs and application of the principle of universal design.
