This is a project case story within the framework of the TUMI Challenge 2018. Mexico City has made great efforts to diversify its public transport system in order to tackle congestion, air pollution and road fatalities. ECOBICI, the city’s public bike-sharing system, represents a convenient, environmentally friendly and affordable mode of transport, which is used for 40% of daily short and medium distance trips within the city. The case story gives an overview about the measures to improve the bike-sharing system and the Amlópolis and the 2019 Strategic Mobility Plan for Mexico City.
