Spotlight No. 1 – New Directions in Urban Transport in Germany

New findings on travel behaviour within the “Mobility in Towns – SrV 2013” research project. Public transport and bicycles become increasingly attractive in German cities, while car use clearly dropped since 2008. Sustainable transport modes are likely to shape development in the long-term future as behavioural changes are expected. New mobility services like flexible bike- and car-sharing systems show astonishing growth factors.
