Transport, Mobility and Logistics in Namibia

The transport system is of great importance to the Namibian economy. It is the basis of the country’s development, enabling the population to access their workplaces, markets and social and health facilities. To further expand the transport sector, the country needs qualified specialists in the ministries and subordinate authorities, as well as in business, academia and the research community.

The Fourth National Development Plan defines as a key priority the transformation of Namibia into a regional logistics hub for the Southern African Development Community (SADC). However, the legal and organisational requirements for its implementation have not yet been established.
