TUMI Update August

Dear Friends of TUMI,
This August, we want to highlight our #MobilizeMinds efforts. We are thrilled to share a wealth of knowledge products, events and trainings that showcase our collective efforts towards towards capacity development for sustainable urban mobility.

Deep Dive into the TUMI Knowledge Hub: We’ve recently added180 essential publications from the SUTP website to the TUMI Knowledge Hub. This migration complements our resource base, providing you with insights into various aspects of urban mobility.

Call for Partnerships: We are excited to announce a new initiative to expand our e-learning course, “Digitalizing E-Bus Projects”. We invite universities and development organizations to partner with us in this endeavor. The course aims to improve the operational efficiency of electrified public transport systems and drive impactful change in e-mobility.

TUMI’s E-Learning Courses: We are excited to announce that our entry-level course on e-mobility, “Exploring the World of Electric Mobility: Key Concepts and Strategies,” is back, starting on October 7th in both English and Spanish. This free, six-week course is perfect for beginners and covers technology advancements, policy considerations, and environmental impacts, with a certificate from TUMI upon completion. Additionally, enroll in the “Transforming Urban Mobility” course, developed with University College London (UCL) on FutureLearn. This was our very first e-learning course and we are glad its back! Take part in this course to gain valuable knowledge and earn a certificate upon completion.

#MobilizeMinds Catalogue: Additionally to the e-learning courses above, find more of our capacity development offers in the #MobilizeMinds Catalogue. It includes thematic learning, study tours, and massive open online courses (MOOCs) provided by TUMI and global partners. Whether you are a professional, student, or enthusiast, our resources are designed to enhance your understanding and skills in urban mobility.

Upcoming Events: Mark your calendars for the Engineers Without Borders Design Challenge, running from 1 August to 9 September 2024. This competition aims to foster innovative solutions for sustainable mobility in low- and middle-income countries. Additionally, don’t miss the University of York & UNEP Masterclasses on Inclusive Climate-Resilient Planning, which will provide critical insights into addressing climate impacts on transport infrastructure and the needs of marginalized user groups.

Our dedicated TUMI Partners continuously seek ways to foster collaboration and exchange, working toward making transportation more inclusive and climate friendly. See below for all their latest #MobilizeMinds news!
