African European Industry Dialogue
on Railways at InnoTrans 2026
September 23, 2026
12:00-14:00
Messedamm 22 | 14055 Berlin | Germany
As Africa continues to experience rapid population growth, urbanisation, and industrial expansion, rail has a critical role to play in shaping sustainable mobility and driving economic development. But what will the future of railway systems across the continent look like to support this growth and how can stronger partnerships help realise that vision?
These are the questions at the centre of our African-European Dialogue at InnoTrans. On 23 September, together with the African Development Bank and Deutsche Bahn, we will convene representatives from African and European governments, railway authorities, development partners, and industry players to explore opportunities for railway cooperation, knowledge exchange, and long-term partnership. The exchange will examine the current state of railway development in Africa, discuss future opportunities, and identify pathways to accelerate the continent’s railway ambitions.
If you would like to like to join the conversation or connect with the TUMI team at InnoTrans, get in touch with our colleagues Michael Engelkirchen, Martin Schaefer and Ragina Gitau
