Rolling Out Electric Buses
The Guidebook is a reference tool for public transport companies to help them adopt a calibrated approach to introducing electric buses in their services. It is intended to ensure that technological change does not disrupt the quality of bus service or become a burden on transit agencies. Such a phased rollout depends on a number of technical and financial considerations that are often interrelated and limited by some constraints. To address this complex problem, the Guide proposes a six-step approach and two decision trees that can serve as a reference for transit agencies in route prioritization and implementation planning.
